Group Health Insurance

Group Health Insurance plans help to protect and manage the health of your employees. There are a number of products available to you that allow you to tailor the types of coverage you would like to offer your employees. Group Health Insurance provides peace of mind for you and your employees providing inpatient cover and the ability to extend the coverage with outpatient, maternity, dental and optical benefits. In addition to the standard company group cover that you choose, you can provide your employees the opportunity to 'top-up' the cover you have provided them to meet their personal and family requirements at a minimal cost.

IPG specialises in providing Group Medical Insurance to companies with expatriate and Singaporean employees.

Some of the benefits may include:

  • Worldwide, Asia Pacific or Singapore Coverage
  • Cashless Outpatient Facilities
  • Maternity Coverage
  • Worldwide Medical Assistance
  • Dental & Optical Coverage
  • Group Underwriting

Offering Expat Employees a good health insurance plan is a great way to instil loyalty. The main limitations of a basic local group plan for an expat employee are as follows:

  • The inability to transfer coverage from group to individual cover, creating the risk of the employee becoming uninsurable for medical conditions in the future or even without cover for a long term illness or disability.
  • The lack of portability, in the event of the employee relocating overseas or repatriating. This carries the same risks mentioned above.
  • Inadequate coverage, this coupled with the absence of a Medisave account could cause substantial shortfalls in the event of a claim that could cause the employee to be considerably out of pocket or even unable to cover the cost of treatment.

The above risks are the reasons that many expats will seek out their own top-up cover.

Whilst it is not always financially economical for businesses to offer their expat employees a highly comprehensive international health insurance policy, IPG would recommend offering expat employees the choice of inclusion in the company plan or a contribution towards an individual plan.

Workshops

Here at IPG we have set up workshops to work with employees to inform them of their current policy and provide them with different options to 'top-up' what they already have. This is a great opportunity to help your employees understand their benefits.

We can work with you on the best way to execute the workshops tailored to your company's needs. Some of the highlights include a dedicated team support team for any queries, a dedicated email for employees to contact us, a short presentation highlighting the key benefits partnered with time slots for one-on-ones. Please get in contact with us today and we can go through all of your options and the best approach – we look forward to hearing from you.

Group Business Travel Insurance

Companies are exposed to the possibility of incurring substantial expenses due to a number of unexpected events such as emergency medical evacuation, lost baggage, flight cancellations and diversions.

As the employees' well-being is the responsibility of their employer as well as any additional accommodation or travel expenses, a group travel insurance is crucial for companies that require their employees to travel for business. Many group insurance policies also offer the flexibility to extend this coverage when they extend their work trips for leisure. Typically a group travel insurance will include the following main benefits:

  • Personal Accident
  • Overseas & Local Medical Expenses
  • Accidental Death and Permanent Disablement
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation
  • Repatriation of Mortal Remains
  • 24hr Medical and Travel Assistance
  • Personal Liability
  • Trip Cancelation, Postponement, Curtailment, Rearrangement, Disruption
  • Travel Delay, Misconnection, Diversion
  • Baggage Delay and Losses

Many group travel insurance policies will only cover leisure trips if they are an extension of a business trip and cannot be extended to the employee's family. Review the company policy terms or speak to an IPG consultant to see if you need a personal travel insurance policy for you and/or your family.

Key Person Insurance

Also known as Key Man Insurance, Key Woman Insurance or Business Life Insurance is a life insurance policy that a company purchases on a key executive's life. The company is the beneficiary of the plan and pays the insurance policy premiums.

Key person insurance is needed if the sudden loss of a key person would have a large negative effect on the company's operations. In a small business, the Key Person is usually the owner, the founders or perhaps a key employee or two. These are the people who are crucial to a business and the ones whose absence would have catastrophic consequences to the company. The payout provided from the death of the key person buys the company time to find a new person or to implement other strategies to save the business. If the company is just you and doesn't have any employees or other people who depend upon it, then key person insurance may be unnecessary and personal life insurance may be more appropriate to protect your family.

Most people, particularly when they're young, don't plan on dying suddenly. If you are working to start or grow a small business, you've got plenty on your mind, and chances are you haven't thought much about key person insurance. Unfortunately by the time you need it, it is too late to do anything about it.
